Therefore, in this article, we will discuss some of the highest paid jobs in Cambodia, and give you an idea on what is required to get into them.

Medical Practitioners

Medical Practitioners are healthcare providers including doctors of medicine, dentists, surgeons, nurse practitioner, podiatrist and more. This profession generally involves high risk, and requires extensive knowledge and a long learning path, since it is a profession that involves saving or improving a human's life. Their monthly income ranges from USD 1700 to USD 5000+. The responsibilities of Medical Practitioners generally include patient consultations, patient monitoring, clinical examinations, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses or ailments, surgeries, and more. One can say that they have one of the heaviest responsibilities when it comes to normal job positions. Because of this, the requirements to become a medical practitioner are also some of the hardest and take the longest time. Some of the qualifications you need for this career path are a medical degree that can take up to 8 years to get, 2 to 5 years medical trainings, 1 to 5 years specialty training (for specialty doctors), undertake and successfully pass the general practitioner exam, ability to work long hours under pressure, effective decision-making skills, attention to details, and more. One can say medical practitioners are some of the most demanding jobs in not only Cambodia, but the whole world.

Legal Practitioners

Legal Practitioners are those whose career is in law. Legal practitioners include judges, prosecutors, advocates, lawyers, court staff, and more professionals involved in the work of the judiciary. The nature of these professions is generally extremely rigid, and requires extreme attention to details. It is a profession that sometimes involves deciding other people’s fate, or making them better or worse. It is definitely one of the professions with the heaviest responsibility in the market.  Their monthly income ranges from USD 1600 to USD 4000+. The responsibilities of Legal Practitioners include upholding and observing the rule of law, promoting and fostering the cause of justice and maintaining a high standard of professional conduct. It is also their responsibility to uphold a conduct that is exemplary to all citizens. The requirements for this profession, while not as intensive as the above mentioned medical practitioner, are also extremely intensive when compared to most job positions. Some of the qualifications you need for this career path are at least a bachelor degree in law which will take up to 4 years, able to pass the notoriously hard Cambodia bar exam in order to obtain a license which may also takes you a very long time depending on how many time you have to take it, and many more depending on what which legal professions you are trying to get into. While it pays a lot, it is also extremely physically and mentally demanding. Therefore, take time to prepare for it if it is your purpose to become a legal practitioner.

Chief Officers

Chief Officers are those who lead departments of a company, or the company as a whole. Chief Officers include CEO, CFO, CTO, Managing Director, General Manager, and more. This position generally involves overseeing and leading projects, and making important decisions that may impact a business positively or negatively. They are key positions that are primarily responsible for the success or failure of their organization. The monthly wages for these people often vary depending on the position, the size and success of the company, and more. Generally they make somewhere between USD 2000 to USD 10000+; they are also often given a share of the company they are working for. The responsibilities of Chief Officers are also extremely varied due to the diversity of fields in this position. For example, a CFO would be in charge of the whole financial aspect of a company, while a COO would be in charge of the whole operation. However, we know for sure that whichever field they are in, they are responsible for making a choice that is optimal for their company’s growth. The requirements to become a Chief Officer, again, are extremely varied, but whichever field they are in, they would need mountains of experience, leadership, adaptability skills, leadership skills, decision making skills, and much more. While the requirements for becoming a Chief Officer may not be as hard as the two positions mentioned above, they are still extremely hard. Therefore, if a Chief Officer is your preferable career path, you need to prepare yourself starting today.
